Having returned to the gymnasium subsequent to being given the all-clear, Ricky burns recommences his boxing line of business.
At some stage in a divisive draw with Raymundo Beltran in September, burns had to go through a surgical procedure. However, Ricky has said that he is planning to return to the square circle as soon as possible with a little defense in opposition to Terence Crawford in Glasgow scheduled for February.
With that said, Ricky has reported to the sky sports news saying that “When I was in to see the surgeon last week, (we) got an X-ray and they’re happy the way the bone’s healing. The bone’s knitting together nice; they still can’t tell what it’s going to be like, obviously when it starts taking punches again when I start back sparring”
Having got a deadline prior to the fight Terence Crawford, the surgeons has suggested that the later he could have the fight the better it would be.
An immediate rematch with Beltran was ruled out when the WBO ordered Burns to take on mandatory challenger, American Crawford, in a fifth defense of his belt.
