Sonny Bill Williams is rumoured to be making his professional boxing debut on the undercard of Anthony Mundine’s upcoming world title fight.
Williams, a friend of Mundine who controversially walked out on the NRL midway through last season to join French rugby union club Toulon, is reportedly considering fighting in Munine’s ‘KO To Drugs’ promotion event.
Mundine is this month expected to announce a fight with Australia’s IBO middleweight champion Daniel Geale in May.
Williams will return to Australia for the first time since his sudden exit when he plays for the Barbarians against the Wallabies in Sydney on June 6.
The former league back-rower has starred in the centres for Toulon, but his club has slumped to 11th in the 14-team competition with six games remaining.
