Phoenix Fight Club Logo

The Phoenix Club had a step ahead in history, with the majority of its young fighters coming from the Rutherglen and Cambuslang areas. The WBO world featherweight boxing champion Scott Harrison is meant for training up former.

Although a new section is set to start on this gym's history, since they are set to move to new premises on French Street.

The gym has modest beginnings, being transformed from a run down warehouse to one of the most valued boxing gyms in Glasgow, with Scott Harrison himself laying the floors to the place which would train him up to become world champion.

The club founder and Scott's father Peter Harrison, from Cambuslang, had gave the explanations how the club got started all those years ago.

Peter said that “It was actually founded to train my son, Scott”.

But “Obviously to run a club though you need a lot more people In it, so we got a lot of other members to join us. The trainer trains others on alternative days like Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Floyd Mayweather Vs Pacquiao

The highly probable bout among Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Many Pacquiao will occur, because, the reply is right there, it’s highly probable. Wait, let me rephrase that, it has very high anticipation. Wait, one more time, it is possibly the most probable bout between two boxers in new memory. It’s not only concerning their career; it is regarding the career of boxing.

This rush of interest thrust boxing into the conversation of inactive sports chatter everywhere can be generous credit to none extra then that of these two boxers gathering. It desires to happen, not should, not may, requirements.

If this game didn’t occur, there would approximately be this empty gap that people/fans would contain and boxing would plum it down a polished slop on a cold day tiring not anything but its birthday suit. Only there’s not leaving to be a pleased birthday song at the bottom, intact it would go amazing more like this.

Boxing is at towering point from current years, invigorated from the even the thought of this happening and other new events. But with the like of Pacquiao and further boxers, Mayweather come back from retirement for one more example, it’s back in action and not just that but still mountaineering. If this didn’t occur that climb would come to a screech halt, and it’s down the polished slop we go, exit a terrible taste in many fans mouths for it.

I read a superior attractive article by Brickhaus of why is has to obtain place in Vegas and it most probable will. But Vegas needs the money while further area’s such as The Louisiana Superdome Stadium which have uttered attention in hosting the bout and seem to be the further front runners, may want the credit and the long term profit of being place on the map.

Predictions are as follow in order of conviction. I’ll set a 99 on it will occur, only fools are optimistic. Bout will take position among March-May 2010, in Las Vegas, at a catch mass of 147, with a 50/50 rip purse.. The official declaration on what’s going to occur will most probable be made in 2-8 days.

Kessler Lost To Ward

It’s preliminary to boil my kettle interpretation how some boxing fans are quizzical the new World Boxing organization super middleweight champ Andre Ward’s imposing 11th round technical choice come first over Mikkel Kessler previous weekend in the Super Six competition bout in Oakland, California.

The gifted American Ward show his aptitude and superior boxing skills and giving the 30-year-old Kessler a harsh thrashing to the point where the judge had to pace in and halt the short period in the 11th round because Kessler’s features was cut to ribbons. Instead of boxing fans charitable Ward credit for having compressed Kessler to a pulp, I’m hearing belongings like Ward should have been banned for head butts and throwing elbows.

Does anyone actually think that Kessler would have still win the clash had he not been head butt. If you consider that, you require sitting down and watching the clash again because there was never a instant in the clash where Kessler was even close up to being spirited. It was completely one-sided from create to finish.

Ward was just a improved boxer, era. Ward is almost certainly going to succeed the Super Six competition unless somebody else like Andre Dirrell can give him some rivalry. That’s just the cold tough facts and some people may not like to believe it but that’s how it will twist out.
Sure, they have a small possibility, but I only see it as a possibility to win it if Ward or Dirrell end up poorly injured and can’t clash. Ward didn’t alter the outcome of Saturday’s clash one jot by conflicting heads with Kessler and the elbows didn’t alter anything either. For myself, I didn’t see Ward fling one elbow through the clash, but that’s what I’m inquiry from fans.

Steve Molitor Beaten Joe Saez

Former International Boxing Confederation super bantamweight champ Steve Molitor beaten Argentinean Joe Saez by eight round choice on Saturday night at the Casino Rama, Canada.

Molitor who is still annoying to work his method back into a title attempt after being shattered by Celestino Caballero previous year in a 4th round chow down, had to stay alive a 5th round knockout to get the succeed over the journeyman Saez. It wasn’t a good mark that Molitor, rank #2 IBF, #3 WBC and #11 WBO, had to fight back to get a succeed over Saez.

It was objective practice early on in the clash as Molitor stalked Saez around the ring, category him with straight lefts and small hooks to the body and head. Saez twisted the table on Molitor in next round, beating him with a large right hand and pressuring him continually during the round. Molitor and Saez take turns annoyance each other around the ring trade huge shots.

In the 3rd and 4th rounds Molitor had belongings frequently his way, as Saez did little to make a clash of it and exhausted a huge deal of the time either running or laying next to the ropes. However Saez would assault Molitor and find huge success in landing over Molitor’s low protector. Early in the 5th round, an anxious Molitor was drop by a huge left hand from Saez as Molitor came charge forward tiresome to land.

Molitor seem to disregard his defense and was strike with his protector down by Saez. After the knockdown, Saez temporarily attempt to take Molitor out. However, Molitor fight efficiently for the rest of the round and twisted back Saez’s attacks.

It wasn’t a immense presentation from Molitor, who show little authority to speak of. It’s hard to imagine Molitor charming another title in the near future because he’d have huge troubles if he were to face Caballero once more and Juan Manuel Lopez would come into view much too superior for the feeble punching Molitor as well.

Mayweather Want To Fight Against Challenging Opponents

According to the most recent boxing news that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is look at fighting several dissimilar opponents if a clash with Manny Pacquiao can’t be complete. The challengers are as follows Matthew Hatton, Dimitriy Salita and Carlos Quintana. This is quite dreadful news, because the boxing world has been including on seeing a clash between Mayweather and World Boxing association welterweight champ Manny Pacquiao.

Apparently, Mayweather is worried about the occasion and effort that will be required to negotiate a clash with Pacquiao, who is measured to be the number #1 boxer in all of boxing at this instance by a lot of sports writers and fans. Instead of coming up around and losing out on a lot of exhausted time, Mayweather needs to stay busy and clash a tune-up bout in between this instance. It would make perfect sense, because Mayweather has previously lost two years of his pro career because of his departure from 2007 to 2009.

Mayweather look immense in beating Juan Manuel Marquez in a irregular 12 round common in September. However, Mayweather, 32, didn’t get a entire lot of praise for winning the clash because Marquez was touching up in weight from the lightweight separation to take the clash and it gave a lot of people the perception that Mayweather was cherry option fighters from the inferior weight classes.

That insight isn’t probable to change much if Mayweather chooses to clash Salita, a light welterweight candidate. Salita is winning at 30-0, but his record is approximately completely built up on B and C level fighters somewhat than from the top tier.

More than that, Salita has a match in December next to World Boxing Association light welterweight champ Amir Khan. Most probable, he’ll be knock out by Khan and this will routinely eliminate Salita from the organization for a bout next to Mayweather. Quintana a previous WBO welterweight champ is also an strange option for Mayweather.

Quintana has lost two elsewhere of his previous five fights, together by knockouts. He was stopped up in the 1st round by Paul Williams previous year in June. Quintana has complete little since that time, thrashing C class boxer Joshua Onyango by a 4th round in October. If Mayweather select Quintana, he’ll obtain a lot of pressure because of it.

The brother of Ricky Hatton, Matthew Hatton has unsuccessful to found himself as a rightful world class competitor in the welterweight division. Hatton was with no trouble beaten by Craig Watson previous year in a 12 round choice loss and newly fight to a 21 round draw next to Lovemore N’dou on November 13th.

Khan Has To Fight Against Salita

World Boxing organization light welterweight champ Amir Khan is keenly looking ahead to his December 5th bout against number #1 contestant Dmitriy Salita at the Metro Radio Arena. Khan, 22, is supposedly motivated after inspection stalemate Manny Pacquiao take WBO welterweight winner Miguel Cotto out in the 12th round previous Saturday night.

Khan will be creation his first protection of his WBA title, which he win with a irregular 12 round choice over Andriy Kotelnik on July 18th. Khan would favor to face a better known challenger than Salita. However, because Salita is his compulsory challenger, Khan’s hands are weary for this clash.

Khan is eager on looking superior in this clash and then move on next to some bigger names in the boxing world. Khan was particularly impressed with Pacquiao’s succeed over Cotto. Although Khan did achieve a huge deal in thrashing Kotelnik, a boxer with outstanding technical boxing skills, Khan has exposed a weakness when in front of punchers. Khan was compressed in the first round by Colombian slugger Breidis Prescott in September. Many people figure that Khan would try to avenge the beat and take on Prescott right away in a rematch.

However, since that occasion Khan has steered obvious of Prescott, as well as other huge punchers. Given that big success artist Marcos Maidana is the WBA interim light welterweight champ, Khan won’t have extended to wait for him to effort on getting to the level where Pacquiao is at, as he’ll have to make a decision whether he needs to face Maidana or not. However, Khan initial has to get by Salita on Dec 5th, and that could be a lot tougher clash than some people are expectant it to be.

Salita has superior power and if he can attach with one of his huge shots, he could expose Khan’s easily broken chin. Salita will have to be fine on his feet, though, because Khan has turn out to be much more of a mover in the precedent year since taking on Freddie Roach as his coach. Khan mix it up much less than he use to and is extra focused on using his jab and rapid combinations.

Cotto Lost Against Pacquiao

Miguel Cotto
It’s terrible to believe that the two biggest fights in previous World Boxing Organization welterweight champ Miguel Cotto’s career were together defeats. Firstly it was the major fight of his career next to the welterweight solid man Antonio Margarito, where he was take separately in the second half of the clash with super powerful punch.

Next his newest beat on Saturday next to the pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao, which if you seem at isn’t too terrible, but people will keep in mind him in the future as the courageous warrior, which is high-quality but be supposed to we keep in mind him for his wins.

This is no disregard to Manny because I actually like Pacquiao and expect he fight Mayweather next year, and prove who is the top, but I believe when we talk about Miguel we be supposed to talk about his victory next to Ricardo Torres, Paulie Malignaggi, Shane Mosley and Joshua Clottey. I want him to clash again to make one last point next to a excellence boxer, but I fear for his health and particularly his vision, because cuts have become a huge difficulty for Cotto and he was in a awful shape after Pacquiao had ended with him. Being a huge boxing fan, I be anxious about the fighters themselves and wouldn’t like to observe Cotto taking a thrashing again just for our activity.

If he is to clash again, he shouldn’t clash a huge puncher particularly not a rematch with Margarito. It would be a enormous thing if Manny retire 3 fighters in a row, although it look like Ricky needs to return, which similar to with Miguel would be a danger, maybe not worth taking. Miguel has had abundance of achievement and should be remember as a fable of the sport not a courageous soldier of the sport.

Rowland Lost Against Chavez

Victorious middleweight candidate Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. continual his unbeaten line with a lopsided 10-round common decision over Troy Rowland on the underarm of the World Boxing association welterweight title game between champ Miguel Cotto and competitor Manny Pacquiao on Saturday night at the MGM Grand.

The concluding judges score were 99-91, 98-92 and 97-93, every one for Chavez Jr. Despite receiving the succeed, the 23-year-old Chavez Jr. look far from imposing in the 10 round short time. Chavez Jr. looked sluggish and not mainly powerful as he attempt to take the 34-year-old Rowland elsewhere round following round with control shots. Chavez Jr. had the ideal adversary for him to take out, yet one more B-level boxer.

However, Chavez’s punch lack control and the needed crispness to injure Rowland. This was just the 3rd clash for Rowland in the precedent four years. Chavez Jr., the young man of boxing immense Julio Cesar Chavez, win most of the early on rounds of the clash with his steady body work and firm hooks to the head. However, Rowland by no means backed down and come on in the previous three rounds of the clash as Chavez Jr. weary out and missing steam on his punches.

In rounds one although four, Chavez plod forward throw hooks to the body and head. Chavez hardly ever threw a jab as he come forward and seem to be completely focused in trying to knock Rowland out. Rowland ablaze back with punch at a steady rate, but he had no authority whatsoever. It was simple to tell why he had been chosen for Chavez Jr., since he was by no means going to be much of a danger to beat Chavez with his kind control. At times, Chavez did a ingenious job of duck punch thrown his way. However, the vast mass of shots that Rowland throw at him landed. Rowland fight well in equally the 1st and the 4th, out-landing Chavez and charge him under steady fire. Rowland begin to demonstrate signs of swelling beneath his left eye by the 4th round.

Chavez prohibited the act in rounds five from side to side eight, land the harder shot but look very sluggish and average. The crowd begin to boo the act in the 5th round, maybe upset because both boxer looked slow and missing in intensity.
In the 9th & 10th round Chavez Jr. suddenly begin to look very weary and slowed down with his hit output. Rowland then take over and begin backing Chavez up and drumming him with pleasant combination. Chavez fight back willingly, but he was actually slack looking by this point and hand not anything on his shot.

Hatton To Fight Against Cotto

Former certain light welterweight champ, Ricky Hatton has amazed boxing fans by stating that he needs to clash Miguel Cotto after that, but only if Cotto can beat Pacquiao. If Cotto win, I don’t see any cause why I wouldn’t imagine a clash with him. I’ve face the most excellent pound-for-pound boxers in Floyd Mayweather and Pacquiao, so I’ve by no means shied away from a confront.

Hatton, like me, believe that Cotto will strike Pacquiao, mainly since of power. Hatton affirmed that in his short time with the Pac Man, he shake Pacquiao up on extra than one occasion and he believe Cotto will discontinue him, which will unlock the door for a main showdown with Hatton. I’d similar to believe Pacquiao will win as I’ve get a lot of instance for him both as a boxer and as a person. But Cotto’s physically powerful and you can’t reduction him at all. I know Pacquiao knock me down twice in the initial round but I come back and he comment that I hurt him previous to he caught me.

If you request me, this clash is three or four years too behind. Hatton be supposed to have fight Cotto when they were both agitation at light welterweight, maybe in its place of the likes of Ray Olivera, but that is most likely the liability of promoters. If it was to get place it would be an astonishing clash of styles. Both fighters come ahead. Both fighters have vast control.

Hatton also lined out a clash with youthful novice Amir Khan. He said, ”I can’t observe a clash with Amir still happening. He’s a buddy of mine and he’s also promote by Warren. The simply way that clash might ever happen is if I promote it and that’s since I’d like the currency to go in pit.

Miguel Cotto Will Face Manny Pacquiao

On Saturday night Manny Pacquiao will be captivating his authority and speed and matching it next to the size and identical power of WBO welterweight champ Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand. Many boxing fans are alternative the somewhat smaller Pacquiao to pull out the succeed, but a great segment of fans also believe that Cotto will win the clash based on his size and skill next to bigger welterweights. If this clash had taken place a slight over a year ago, before Cotto was compressed poorly by former IBF welterweight champ Antonio Margarito, maybe the majority of the betting fans would be picking Cotto to succeed the fight.

Cotto was winning before he meet up with Margarito and measured to be one of the most excellent fighters in all of boxing. But the defeat to Margarito, which left Cotto with a face that was almost torn apart, has tainted the perceptions of fans. They no longer see Cotto as the similar boxer, no longer see him as unbeatable and feel that he’s not almost the identical boxer he was in the past.

Cotto didn’t assist his container by look susceptible in his last clash against Joshua Clottey in June. Cotto was cut poorly over his left eye in the clash and started taking a lot of penalty in rounds eight and nine. It was during this instance that Cotto’s body language look a lot like it did in his clash next to Margarito late in the bout when Cotto take a pair of knees and give up in the 11th round.

To Cotto’s praise, he stay on his feet and fought to the finish of the fight and ended up captivating a close 12 round decision. However, the short period was maybe a slight too close for fans who saying Clottey as a flawed fighter and didn’t like see Cotto struggle so poorly next to him.

Cotto would speak afterward that the cut over his eye caught up his act and banned him from fighting as firm and as well as he’d like to have. However, Cotto look tired in the fight and appear to be distress from stamina troubles. Tiredness issue aren’t new to Cotto, who wore down in fight next to Margarito, Shane Mosley and to a quantity of extent in the 2nd half of his clash next to Oktay Urkal.

Freddie Roach, the coach for Pacquiao, has notice that Cotto tend to cut in fight because of a huge amount of scar hankie that Cotto has above both eyes. This scar tissue may unlock before extended next to Pacquiao, particularly when Pacquiao starts beating him with huge power shots early on in the clash. I don’t recognize that Cotto will be clever to clash as well if he sustain two cuts. I believe one cut might sluggish him down a lot, but if he get two, I can’t observe Cotto being effectual at all. If Pacquiao is talented to land his shot all night extended, it’s only a stuff of time before Cotto gets cut poorly at least in one spot.

Ricky Hatton Making His Come Back

Ricky Hatton is bearing in mind a come back, next year subsequent to Christmas and New Year, and following the holiday I’ve got book for January, I might believe about what I’m liability seeing Matthew and all the lads I’m promote be winning has given me that irritate back. That’s high-quality to know that Hatton might be performance a boxing comeback some time subsequently year, although I would have similar to to hear a little more of an importance in his comments.

Hatton still seem a slight bit on the fence about it and not truthfully as motivated as some of us would similar to see from him. Hatton was cruelly knock out in the 2nd round on May 2nd by Manny Pacquiao. Hatton was knock down three times in the short time, two times in the 1st round and a last time in the 2nd.

One might understand Hatton’s unwillingness to desire to get back in the ring after a knock out like that, but it’s rather disappointing to see Hatton’s lack of wish about the game. Before the knock out defeat to Pacquiao, Hatton was careful to be individual of the top fighters in the light welterweight part, and that’s why it seem so odd that he doesn’t desire to get back in the ring in its place of wasting his career session on the sidelines promote other fighters.

Hatton would appear to have at least two, perhaps three good years left in his major if he’s put in with the correct kind of challenger. I wouldn’t desire to see Hatton back in there with quick fighters similar to Floyd Mayweather and Pacquiao, because they obviously have his number. But I believe Hatton might do well next to Juan Manuel Marquez, Edwin Valero, and Amir Khan. Those opponent seem tailor made to Hatton’s brawl style of combating. Hatton would do well monetarily next to Marquez and Khan. The Valero clash would be less accepted because he’s not as well recognized.

Disappointed Pavlik

I’m not leaving to turn gripped with criticizing Kelly, I just desire to make this one point, this is single of those fighters who is debasement boxing. After all the hand troubles that Kelly Pavlik has, he is unexpectedly ok to fight in my sight, a worthless clash next to Miguel Angel Espino, as an alternative of calling off his December 5th bout with the fear Paul Williams. Well he’s only hostility 2 weeks afterward, he needs to clash someone good, he beat Taylor two times, and he’s one of the most excellent fighters in the world. If he’d versed Winky Wright previous year he would have missing, because even Winky almost beat Jermaine.

I wouldn’t be worried if he’d set this fight subsequently year but he’s fighting the similar month he would have fight Williams. He could with no trouble have got the clash back on with Paul, and I’m in no doubt Sergio Martinez, Williams’ next challenger would have step aside. I don’t abhorrence any boxer no stuff where their from, but I can’t stand boxers that do this and wait for to be appreciated. Bernard Hopkins could have knock him out, and he look poor next to Marco Antonio Rubio.

It might be like when David Haye pull out of hostility Wladimir Klitschko, and then fight someone else a few weeks afterward. At the present if David Haye did that he would have many of complaint. Pavlik needs to clash Paul Williams subsequently year, for sheer admiration, he has to clash him no excuses, and after that we would see how a great deal of a waster Kelly Pavlik is.

Lovemore N’dou Will Face Hatton

Matthew Hatton will be in front of 38-year-old IBO International Boxing Organization welterweight champ Lovemore N’dou on Friday. Hatton, 28, is the brother of previous light welterweight champ Ricky Hatton. Matthew is irritating to make a name for himself by thrashing N’dou and hopeful to make it into the top 15 in the welterweight part world rankings.

Hatton has compressed mainly local fighters since being soundly flattened by Craig Watson previous year. Hatton now has a four clash win streak, albeit next to 2nd tier opposition, going for him as he enter the ring next to N’dou on Friday night. Also, Hatton will have the benefit that N’dou has been flattened in two out of his preceding three fights and has in progress to look his age all of a unexpected.

Hopefully, most of the clash has been in use out of N’dou with his aging, because if he’s wherever near his major skills, he’ll very probable stop Hatton or at the very slightest, give him a terrible beating. Hatton also has the benefit that N’dou, a light welterweight from end to end much of his 16 year pro career, has only stirred up to the welterweight division previous year and was beaten by Kermit Cintron in a 12 round result loss in his initial clash at that weight class in November 2008.

Hatton must expect that the grouping of N’dou’s advanced age and his moving up in weight will curse problems for him in this clash. If not, Hatton will about surely lose. Hatton doesn’t have huge control like his brother, and gets by extra on being a finesse boxer. He doesn’t have a great deal hand speed either, and gets by on touching around the ring and receiving in and out with his shot.

N’dou lost a slight 12 round split choice to Paul Malignaggi previous year in May in a clash that he appear to succeed by a round in the eyes of lots of boxing fans. N’dou look superior in that fight, but much fewer efficient six months later in a 12 round choice loss to Cintron in Nov.

The keys to the clash for Hatton is to wait on the move and make certain he doesn’t stand in front of the tough hitting N’dou. Although N’dou has only freshly moved up in heaviness to the welterweight division, he’s the much harder punches and is far more unsafe than Hatton.

Helenius beaten Bidenko

Unbeatable Robert Helenius won by a 3rd round strike success over Ukrainian Taras Bidenko on Saturday at the Arena Nurnberger Versicherung, Germany. Helenius was in manage over the clash at the time of the strike, which came at the finish of the 3rd round due to a huge cut over the right eye of Bindenko.

Using his two inch height benefit over Bindenko Helenius jab away at Bindenko from the outside, and pierce Bindenko’s defense with exact right hands to the head. Helenius seem kind of rigid, and not very influential. However, he look superior and use his height and reach benefit well in the fight.

Bindenko had a tough time striking Helenius, because he would back missing quickly whenever Bindenko even implicit at trying to land any shot of his win. All three rounds were completely one-sided with Bindenko getting hit incessantly and very not often throwing anything back at Helenius. Bidenko came into the clash having been stopped up in his last clash next to Denis Boytsov in June. Bidenko looked like a case of his previous self and didn’t clash back with the older aggression that he used to have prior to being stopped by Boytsov.

Helenius will have a huge test in the way of previous World Boxing association heavyweight champ Lamon Brewster in December. That will be now as huge a examination for the 36-year-old Brewster, who was beaten in his last bout next to Gbenga Oloukun in an eight round choice loss. Brewster can’t pay for to lose and still stay as a name contender.

Sugar Shane Return

It will be more than 1 year since Shane Mosley last fight on January 30th where he meet winning WBC Welterweight champ Andre Berto 25-0 in Las Vegas. After abundance of fight being made and cancelled for Mosley, after arrange to clash with Joshua Clottey on Boxing Day. I’m in no doubt it would have been a huge Christmas present for one of the boxers, but almost immediately as it was made, it was canceled. It will be firm for Mosley to come back after such a enormous lay off, and the one be concerned that Shane can blow hot and cold.

Firstly he struggle poorly next to Ricardo Mayorga before receiving a last second KO, and then he surprised the whole world and stopped up the Tijuana Tornado Antonio Margarito. But we might see one more down performance from Sugar Shane.

Berto is not petite of experience at present; he had his career most excellent performance this May next to former IBF Light-Welterweight champ Juan Urango in his Welterweight debut. In spite of Urango coming up a division he will be in top form and was a huge win for Andre. He has also compressed Luis Collazo in a close clash, I can promise you with the purpose of, that is nil compare to Mosley’s class of opponent.

The initial of Shane’s huge fights was next to Oscar De La Hoya whom he strike twice in spite of using steroids which he only admit to earlier this year. He has just lost to peak class challenger in Vernon Forrest twice, Winky Wright twice and Miguel Cotto, his last ever defeat. He has also flattened Fernando Vargas twice almost finish his career before Mayorga made certain he wouldn’t clash again.

Berto isn’t an best boxer yet, but quickly will be, and this could be the begin of Andre and maybe the finish of Mosley. I wouldn’t like to carry either boxer over one another but if I go by means of what my brain says at the instant, I would have to go with the more knowledgeable Shane Mosley to take this on point, but my view may alter.

Cotto Vs Pacquiao

With now nine days separating the world from the clash of the year, experts and fans alike have frenzied up the Firepower discuss to its boiling point. You’ve hear the point of view Cotto is stronger. Pacquiao is a 2-1 preferred; Cotto is a supposed odds-beater. Naturally, if you’re a admirer of one and not the other, you’re probable to consider whichever side of the fight favors your fighter.

Each fighter’s capability to adapt to his opponent’s method will eventually determine who holds the edge in this clash. Cotto’s power benefit only matters if he lands power shots. Likewise, Pacquiao’s speed benefit only matters if he gets his punch off before receiving hit back.

Let’s take a look at both boxers. There may be no guy in boxing today who makes improved in-fight adjustment than Miguel Cotto. In addition, no boxer has exhibited the capability to add skills to his arsenal from fight-to-fight improved than Cotto. When the bell ring for Cotto’s 2007 matchup with ShaneMosley, Cotto prove to be more than a brawler by not only thrashing Mosley, but besting him at his own match by out-boxing him. He also cruelly dismantled Zab Judah, another polished and quick southpaw who, theoretically, had the tools essential to win the clash. In together cases, any apparent advantage his opponent had was render moot by Cotto’s highest timing and continued pressure.

For all of his strength, Pacquiao has never exhibit the same flexibility. When faced with difficulty, his stamina and authority alone have typically given him an edge over his opponents. In life and death battles next to Juan Manuel Marquez, Pacquiao relied upon his never-ending provide of energy to outlast Marquez. Against Cotto, though, that similar method could get him knocked out.

Pacquiao is certainly faster, and Freddy Roach has a suitable point when he say that Cotto is hittable. A particular anxiety for Cotto is his vulnerability to the uppercut. When you think Pacquiao’s speed and power, that susceptibility becomes very unnerving. Cotto has proven susceptible to other punch as well; particularly the directly left hand against southpaws.

I only have one guess for this clash, and it’s not on whom the victor will be it’s that this will be a brutal clash that goes the distance. If Freddy Roach expect Pacquiao to hit and not get strike, then he’ll probable be fighting on his toes in its place of sitting down on his punches and throw authority shots.

Haye Vs Valuev

David Haye, the previous cruiserweight champion, has referred to his challenger as a Freak, The ugliest mania I have yet seen, pose with cardboard cut-outs of the boxer then to behead the cardboard copy. Whilst all this has be done in the Muhammad Ali method of pre-fight publicity, one significant word has been gone out of the Haye Arsenal Easy.

Valuev, it be supposed to not be forgotten, was on the in receipt of end of an very fortunate decision next to the 44yr old Evander Holyfield, the same Holyfield who was given important losses by both previous cruiserweight James Toney and the Russian Sultan Ibragimov. His own place as the WBA champion is certainly questionable, before we even go into into the merits of the Hayemaker’s place in the WBA rankings.
Who has David Haye flattened, at moreover Cruiserweight or Heavyweight, to be clever to be so hateful towards his opponent. The fact is the only standout name on his evidence is the big success of Frenchman Jean-Marc Mormeck in Paris. Mormeck, with his well recognized stamina issue, had given Haye a atrocious lesson in speed and authority before his common tiring in the later rounds.

WBA heavyweight winner Nikolai Valuev is a sluggish, one dimensional, technically limited boxer. Whilst I am no admirer of David Haye, if he can’t beat the likes of Valuev he has no trade in the superior tier of heavyweight boxing.

Whatever the result of this clash, one thing is certain; neither boxer has the aptitude to challenge either Klitschko. Haye and Valuev would both lose determinedly to either Wladimir or Vitali, and this meeting as a name clash is a damning indictment on the present condition of the Heavyweight list. Furthermore, Haye is at risk of further alienate himself from right boxing fans with his not only his be short of of respect for his adversary but also his increase to power, despite his be short of of pedigree in his new separation.

HBO Look for Welter weight Tournament

Sources from fight hype have announce that HBO are currently working on putting jointly a super six type boxing competition at light welterweight. The tournament would characteristic Victor Ortiz, Marcos Maidana, Devon Alexander and Amir Khan. Although not anything is official, the rumor is that legislature of all fighters have been learned. Although a competition at 140 pounds is a huge idea, it could be so much better than this.

Firstly, neither of these are the most excellent light welterweights in the world. Amir Khan is well of world set stature and Victor Ortiz has lately quit next to Maidana. The champion will only have fight two bouts. Six or eight would make intelligence. I could not see Amir Khan entering into a competition connecting more than four boxers. What concerning the likes of Ricky Hatton, Timothy Bradley, Juan Marquez, Junior Witter, Paulie Maliganggi and Lamont Peterson.

The main obsession to point out here is that this is the most gifted division in boxing true now. So why only have four in a competition. That is uninteresting and too simple to win. If that was to occur I would see Khan getting stopped up early, in his first short time against Maidana and Devon Alexander thrashing Victor Ortiz. So your final might be Alexander vs Maidana. Bullspt. They are not the most excellent light welter’s.

Also, I do not see why Amir Khan is commendable of fighting in such a contest. He was shattered in concerning half a minute by Breidis Prescott, who for some odd reason is ranked way at the back Khan in the rankings.

Kessler Challenges Ward

I’ve try every single opportunity to see how Ward can strike Kessler and I just can’t see it occurrence. I give Ward all admiration he proved he had a superior chin against banger Edison Miranda, but Mikkel is dissimilar, he is a boxer and much better than any of Andre’s preceding opponents, plus Kessler has only been flattened by Joe Calzaghe. But since retain his WBA title Mikkel hasn’t fight anybody of great credit.

He win the title back off Dimitri Sartison via 12th round strike he has since crushed Danilo Haussler and Gusmyr Perdomo both stopped up inside 4 rounds. Before lose to Joe he did strike two notable opponent in Librado Andrade and Anthony Mundine. So for a boxer with a lot of practice he hasn’t fight many notable fighters and may have had an simple ride so far.

Andre Ward like the majority boxers with only 20 or less fights has been protected from the top class disagreement and has learned abundance from his opponents, Ward has been floor very early in his vocation and that started a debate of whether he can grasp a punch, but redeem himself next to the man who bust Arthur Abraham’s jaw. He reserved out the way out of trouble but didn’t disintegrate when tagged on the chin. He has only knock out 13 of his 20 opponents and is not the type of boxer to knock out Kessler or any other polite chinned fighters. His main benefit is his speed and skill, he is very rapid and has huge skill which makes up for his short of of power. He did stop his last challenger in just 3 rounds on the similar night that Kessler won his last bout.

Neither Kessler or Ward have take on the kind of opponents that they will countenance in the Super Six, and both have the chins to endure each others punches. I see the more practiced Kessler to do what is predictable of him and manage the younger Andre Ward to win obviously on points in spite of being in America, but the US aren’t recognized for fitting the score cards.

Dirrell Vs Abraham

Arthur Abraham find himself in the desirable position of leading the set of super middleweights in the Super Six tournament by good quality of his 12th round knockout of Jermain Taylor. Abraham’s win has had the effect of turning him from the boxer who least was predict to succeed the Super Six competion one that is now being preferential by more than a few boxing fans who are seeing him with new eyes.

However, I detestation to be the one to rain on Abraham’s procession just at the moment of his splendor but his time in the sun is about to finish when he steps foot in the ring next to Andre Dirrell on January 23, 2010, in a clash that will take place at a still to be resolute location in the United States.

Dirrell lost his first clash of the Super Six competition by questionable situation in a clash next to World Boxing committee super middleweight champion Carl Froch on October 17th. Although Dirrell fight his heart out and appear to succeed the fight by a fairly persuasive decision.

I’m not going to strike this into the ground by rehash this tender loss for Dirrell, but unnecessary to say, Dirrell’s loss left a lot of question about that clash. Sorry to say, there’s no rematches in the Super Six competition, so this clash can’t be done over again unless by possibility Froch and Dirrell meet later on in the competition. Dirrell will be doing his piece in creation that happen by defeat Abraham next year in January.

Abraham is being agreed way too much recognition for his knockout succeed over Taylor. It’s a huge win, but come on let’s be truthful here, Taylor’s chin was almost certainly compromised well before the Super Six competition started and he may have been improved off not participate at all.

I can’t provide Abraham any praise for that win. If this was a knockout succeed over a celebrity like Andre Ward, Dirrell or Mikkel Kessler, then I’d be prepared to crown Abraham as the ruler of the Super Six, but that’s not what happen. What I saw was a sloppy boxer throw wild shots and not being very vigorous in his clash against Taylor.

When Abraham did ultimately hurt Taylor in the 9th, he tag him with a right elbow to the head. The referee, I believe, didn’t observe the elbow from Abraham and didn’t end the act to save Taylor from taking unnecessary blows to the head. Whether Abraham injure Taylor or not, his hand pace was as sluggish as molasses and his work rate was just as unfortunate it’s been in the precedent year.
