Roack Talks About Mayweather Performance

They still have to contract with Miguel Cotto but Hall-of-Fame trainer Freddie Roach just couldn’t clasp back in discussion about Floyd Mayweather, Jr. The day he arrived in Baguio City to hook up with his prized boxer Manny Pacquiao, Roach told that Mayweather miss the possibility of gaining sufficient bargaining leverage in his latest fight against Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez. Roach said that the clash was there for the taking but he just couldn’t conclude Marquez because he doesn‘t have the balls to finish him off. The only way that he could contain benefit in fighting Marquez was by knock him out and doing amazing Manny couldn’t do. He’s a enormous fighter and I can’t take that missing from him.

As for Mayweather’s probability against Pacquiao, Roach admits its going to be a hard fight but rapidly adds the Filipino multi-division world champion’s skills would finally lead them to a success. Roach said that Mayweather’s not the bravest man in the world so you got to take probability. He’s a very hard style for anyone but with sufficient punch power and pressure I think my boxer can get him because I’ve got the best boxer in the world.

Roach thinks the hardest feature of dealing with Mayweather is not inside the ring but on the negotiating table. Roach justified his appraisal of Mayweather’s marketability by describing the American’s 12-round choice succeed against Marquez last weekend at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas. Roach said that let’s face it, the man that puts asses on the seats is Manny Pacquiao.

The 26-year-old heavyweight, who twisted professional after the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has fight just once since, a third round win over Dave Ingleby. Price had before been sign to David Haye's promotion company, and makes his first clash under the Maloney banner on 16 October in Sunderland.

Following Price's clash at the Seaburn Centre, the Liverpudlian will then box again seven days afterward at the Bolton Arena on October 23. Maloney with the right treatment and the right fights David Price can become a superstar and a family name. Heavyweights are dissimilar to other boxers. They have to be handle and guided in a different way.

If he knock over a few people I surely won't be rushing David rapidly. Price also win gold at the 2006 Commonwealth games in Melbourne and was one of Britain's most winning amateur in new years.

Filipino boxing impression Manny Pacquiao began his teaching camp feeling upbeat about their continue here in Baguio City, the Philippines Summer Capital located about 250 kilometers north of Manila. Mayweather Back To The Ring

Floyd Mayweather Jr returns to the ring for the initial time in 21 months with a unanimous points win over Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas. Mayweather, who announce his retirement after beating Ricky Hatton in 2007, conquered his five-time, three-weight world champ opponent. The American knock down Marquez in the 2nd round, then pepper him with harmful shots to remain unbeaten. And that step up told as 32-year-old Mayweather conquered all 12 rounds against his smaller challenger with his left jab and agile movement, civilizing his career record to 40-0 with 25 knockouts.

Mayweather, who had a important weight and reach benefit, was a heavy favourite going into the bout at the MGM Grand Garden stadium and floored Marquez, 36, with a hurtful left hook in the second round. And he showed no signs of rust after his long stint away and forbidden the pace of the fight with his lightning hand and foot pace, rock-solid defence and a sequence of telling combinations.

Marquez, who has fought most of his profession at featherweight but is a reign world champion at lightweight, suffer a bloody nose as Mayweather land several hard shots late in the sixth. And whenever he appear to ground a combination, Mayweather simply back away with a grin. Mayweather ended the 11th round by grounding a crunching right hook and maintained be in charge of until the final bell sounded to end the 12th. I've been off for approximately two years but it felt actually excellent to be back. I was pleased with the success but I know I can get better.

Khan To Defend The Title

British boxer Amir Khan is set to build the initial defence of his WBA light-welterweight title against Dmitriy Salita. Khan's advertiser Frank Warren is in talks with Salita's camp and the clash is likely to happen on December 5. A place for the fight is yet to be decided as Khan prepare to protect the title he won in July when he beat Andreas Kotelnik on points.

Ukrainian born Salita is winning in 31 fights and is the obligatory challenger. The 27-year-old has nicknamed The Star of David due to his Jewish roots and has 16 knockout. He made his specialized debut in 2001 and last fought in May, beat American Raul Munoz on points.

Salita told that he was a high-quality amateur and a very good technician for his age, so I expect a high-quality fight. He has first-class hand speed and group, but there are holes in his defence and offence and I'm very sure of winning. I have not at all lost, while he was beaten quite newly, but let the best man win.

Khan, 22, beaten Ukrainian Kotelnik in Manchester with a fine routine and has lost only once in 22 professional fights. That beat came in Sep 2008 when he was knock out inside the first minute of his WBO intercontinental lightweight title defence by Colombia's Breidis Prescott. Bolton boxer Khan freshly spoke about the option of fighting fellow Brit Ricky Hatton, while it was also rumoured that he was presented the chance to meet stablemate, and the recognised pound-for-pound best boxer in the world, Manny Pacquiao.

Darren Sutherland Passes Away

Tributes have been remunerated to Irish Olympic boxer Darren Sutherland, who was found dead in his London flat. The 27-year-old, won bronze medal last year in Beijing. Mr Maloney was taken to hospital after verdict the body and it was later on confirmed he had just suffered a heart attack. However, there is a option Maloney had the heart attack last week, and not after making the grim finding in the flat. Former world champion Barry McGuigan told that it is an complete tragedy. I would explain that Darren as a extraordinary talent. I consider he would have become a world champion in the specialized ranks one day.

Michael Carruth, who won welterweight gold for Ireland at the 1992 Olympics, said that he had the authority, he had the charisma, everything that goes into making a top-class pro, he had the ingredient there. Pat Hickey, President of the Olympic Council of Ireland, said that Sutherland was a superb person with a wonderful personality. His Olympic generation enjoyed his unmanageable good humour and his keen interest in all of the various sports that Ireland participated in. Britain's Olympic middleweight champion James DeGale, who beat Sutherland in Beijing, said that he was shocked at the Irishman's death. I just might not consider it; my heart went to the floor when I heard.

I just do not know what to say apart from he was a brilliant boxer, in fact an excellent fighter. Ireland has lost a sportsman of wonderful capability, a clever and popular man with a prospect of real potential. Dominic O'Rourke, president of the Irish Amateur Boxing Association, said that Sutherland's death had shocked the boxers with whom he came through the domestic ranks.

He was such a admired young boxer within the association. Sutherland had taught with Brendan Ingle in Sheffield while in his adolescence but gave up the sport. After his success in Beijing, the fighter bowed professional and joined the Maloney camp, captivating his first fight in Dublin last December by knockout.

Ivan Calderon Beat Rodel Mayol

For the 2nd time in the past four months, a clash between unbeatable World Boxing Organization light flyweight champion Ivan Calderon and his number no1 candidate Rodel Mayol has ended by a technological decision due to a head clash. This time the bout finished in the 7th round instead of the 6th like last time in June 2009 with Calderon, 34, once again cut from a head clash at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Calderon was in front at the time of the strike on two of the judge’s scorecards, 68-65 and 68-65, while on the third judges’ scorecard, Mayol was lined to be ahead by the scores of 68-65.

Like previous time, the taller 5′4″ took the clash to the shorter 5′0″ Calderon, and just as before, Calderon was clever to take gain of Mayol’s offensive violence by hitting him with a lot of counter shots to the head and body. Last time, I thought that Mayol was in front at the time the clash ended in the 6th round, but this time, I thought that Calderon had won the vast bulk of the rounds with his bright counter punch and deserved to get the win.

What I didn’t like about this clash was that Calderon kept diving in with his head first like a Billy goat when he would made effort to clinch or land punches on the inside. Calderon didn’t use to clash this way, but as moving up against taller boxer like Mayol and Hugo Fidel Cazares in the past couple of years, Calderon has twisted into a small Billy goat with his use of the head.

It makes it annoying to watch him fight nowadays because Calderon’s last three fights have all been stopped up due to cuts from head clash. Calderon is forever the one badly cut, but then again he’s the one that is coming in head first like a little goat. I predict that the replay between Mayol and Calderon would end on a head clash and it looks as if I was correct.

Pacquiao Is Fast to Meet Cotto

Manny Pacquiao insist he will be too fast for Miguel Cotto when the two men meet in Las Vegas on 14 November. Philippine superstar Pacquiao, who knock out Britain's Ricky Hatton in two rounds in May. My rate is my benefit and what's in the spirit makes the difference.

No matter how much rate he has, when you have a good resistance, you can stop speed, countered Puerto Rico's Cotto, the WBO welterweight champion. I'm going to coach the hardest in my profession. I'm just annoying to get myself fit sufficient to capitalise on any mistakes. Pacquiao, 30, has only fight as high as welterweight once before, next to American legend De la Hoya, and his win over Hatton took place at light-welterweight.

And his coach Freddie Roach approved Cotto, 28, would be Pacquiao's most frightening foe yet. Roach said that I'm receiving Manny prepared for the clash of his life. Pacquiao, who has won world titles in six dissimilar weight divisions, was at ringside in New York in June when Cotto won a choice over Joshua Clottey. Pacquiao said that I'm intimidated and he's physically powerful and he can punch, who has 49 wins and three defeats from 54 fights. I learn the style of my challenger and apply some technique to beat him. I see some weakness in Cotto but I won't tell what I saw.

Cotto's only beat in 35 fights in last year next to Mexico's Antonio Margarito, who was poised after his trainer was found to have burdened his gloves before a January bout against Shane Mosley. Cotto, a previous world champion at 140lb, stopped up Britain's Michael Jennings in five rounds to maintain the vacant WBO welterweight title in February.

Reuque vs Geale

Australia’s Daniel Geale will come back to ring action on October 21st when he will fight with Roberto Reuqe of Argentina over twelve rounds with the IBF Pan Pacific label up for grabs at the Silverstone Complex, Launceston, Tasmania that will be televised on Fox Main Event Television. Geale lost a doubtful choice to Anthony Mundine when the general estimation was that Geale had outscored the former WBA super middleweight champion. Geale’s opponent, Roberto Reuque, has been in the ring with more than a few world class middleweights as well as Renan St Juste in 2009, Sebastain Lujan in 2006 and Walter Mathysse in 2005.

Geale’s manager Bill Treacy said that Reuque will be a high-quality test for Daniel after his brawl with Mundine. We try to get world rated middleweights Billy Lyell and Daniel Edouard but they decline considerable offers to come to Australia to clash Daniel. We are sure Geale will beat Reuque but we are not taking him unconscientiously. He has a high-quality record and he has knockout authority.

Graham Shaw has Geale in huge shape and I am convinced he will be imposing on October 21. On the undercard, Anthony Mundine will also be in act next to Alejandro Falliga of Argentina. Falliga lost a close up points choice to Rafael Pintos in 2008. Pintos went the detachment against Mundine in 2008 tumbling a decision over twelve.

He said that I feel like I was dying, after thrashing the Beijing bronze medallist. I was protected away with a Tamiflu instruction and I lost four kilos. But the practice made it much easy for me to make the weight for Milan when I got back in preparation. If anybody had told me when I was in bed that I'd go to the Worlds let by yourself fight for a medal I'd have had a good laugh. But I've gone out there with not anything to lose and it's actually paid off. Meanwhile, Yafai is sure about his probability in his division. I felt great in there today but I've got so much more to give," said the Birmingham boxer.

Change In Training Camp

Former middleweight champ Jermain Taylor changed his training camp from Miami, Florida, to get ready for his explosive October 17th fight with Arthur Abraham in Berlin, Germany at o2 World. Jermain Taylor is going throughout a demanding 10-week training camp at former heavyweight champion George Foreman gym in Houston, Texas, the George Foreman Youth Center. The Taylor-Abraham clash is the start of the historic opening Super Six World Boxing Classic round-robin six boxer tournament, featuring the class of the Super Middleweight division from home and abroad.

Five of the top boxing promoters have collaborate with Showtime Sports to make easy this epic tournament. Taylor stopped late in the 12th round, coming within 14 seconds of captivating the super middleweight title in his last bout with Froch. Coming that close and not getting victory is impressive that Taylor said will never happen again.

I got to contented and there can be a set of distraction in Miami. I like the preparation surroundings here in Houston. The gym is situated in a very distant part of Houston which allows total focus and commitment. Things have been extremely strong and serious in camp. There’s going to be a set of focal point on the 10th, 11th, 12th round if the clash should go that far. Those are the rounds I frequently get tired. I will be geared up to make in no doubt I have the last few rounds under control.

George Foreman, has 68 knockouts in his 76 victories, has infrequently stopped up by the gym and spoken with Taylor at camp, and Taylor has completed some of his early morning runs with Foreman’s sons. For this clash it’s concerning stepping up to the plate and deliver. Taylor said that I encompass to dictate and manage this clash. Nelson is Taylor’s trainer, knows that this competition gives Taylor an chance to show the boxing world that Taylor is still a power, and must not be taken lightly. Taylor said that I know that Arthur is fighting in his native land. I’m no stranger to fighting abroad, being a previous Olympian I know what it’s similar to. I recognize he’s going to contain the crowd at the back him. I’m going to build him clash a way he doesn’t want to fight. He’s a hard boxer, but I will be prepared for the challenge.

Paddy Barnes Lost The Fight

Paddy Barnes reacted angrily subsequent a 15-4 defeat to Kenya's Peter Munkai. Paddy behaviour was completely improper. O'Rourke said that he has been restricted and sent home. It's alright being irritated at a decision, but the way Paddy react rude and to do it in the ring on the world stage is just dreadful. Barnes calm boiled over at the conclusion of the fight which was for a place in the last 16. He had made all the organization in the three rounds, but his challenger was picking up the points.

The obviously disturb Holy Family scrapper threw his gloves onto the canvas in frustration at the final outcome. This sport is all about control and there is no technique that we can allow things like this to happen. O'Rourke said that Paddy let himself and his coach down very poorly. The representation of the game is at stake. The world body are very hard when it comes to regulation and I wholeheartedly back them on that.

There was a genuine threat the whole side might have been thrown out because it has happen before with other teams such as the Romanian team at the last World Championships. It is not the initial time that Barnes has cause embarrassment. When he was beaten in the semi-finals of Beijing Olympics by China's Zou Shiming he criticised the judges and was not pleased with his bronze medal. Barnes said that they can keep it for all I concern. I'm receiving drug tested here. The judges be supposed to be getting drug tested.

Juan Marquez Using Mayweather

Juan Manuel Marquez has a single-minded willpower to avenge his uncertain 12 round divide decision defeat at the hands of Manny Pacquiao and is using his September 19th fight against Floyd Mayweather as a tool to get another shot, his 3rd, at fighting Pacquiao. It’s unlucky that Marquez, 36, has to go through Mayweather to get one more shot at Pacquiao, because Marquez’s clash last year with Pacquiao appear to be a badly scored bout, much like the Juan Diaz fight against Paulie Malignaggi. To many boxing expert saw the fight, they thought that Marquez should have been given the conclusion by at least two rounds. However, Pacquiao finished up being awarded the conclusion. And in its place of giving a rematch to Marquez to clear up the argument, Pacquiao encouraged on to fights against David Diaz, Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton.

Marquez know that this might be his best and only possibility at forcing Pacquiao to fight him, because unless Marquez beats Mayweather on September 26th, Pacquiao will have an reason not to fight Marquez. Manny surely won’t opt to fight Marquez if he loses, because Pacquiao won’t desire to face a boxer that was just beaten. And by the moment that Marquez picks up two or three wins to get past the defeat, Pacquiao could perhaps be out of boxing as he runs into the sunset chasing what may end up being an unfeasible dream of being the president of the Philippines. To prevent that scenario from occurrence, Marquez is leaving to have to beat Mayweather and he’s going to have to do it in an inspiring fashion as well. And to beat a boxer that is a big bucks winner for boxing like Mayweather, you have to beat him so poorly that the judges can’t possibly give him the win for fear of being exposed and ridiculed.

Mayweather will be in front of a fighter that will be more resolute than he can likely ever imagine. If Mayweather isn’t as spiritually focused as Marquez, then Floyd is going to get beat and beat bad, because actually wants this fight. Marquez is in outstanding shape, looking muscular, and strong-minded to win.
Mayweather, who has been livelihood the high life for the past two years, improved hope that he has sufficient left of his talent or else he’s going to get hurt and beaten by Marquez. Mayweather is counting on his momentum advantage to be a vast asset that gets him through this fight. However, if Marquez is talented to neutralize Mayweather’s speed, then the clash will come down to whoever wants it more. Mayweather, at that point, will encompass to outwork Marquez or else he’ll end up losing the fight.

Confident Mayweather

Floyd Mayweather is sure there will no ring rust when he proceeds to action after a long lay-off against Juan Manuel Marquez on 19 September. I feel fast, physically powerful and my timing is there. I undergo the similar way as before I left. I believe the break helped because I haven't had a gap since 1987. Mayweather, who won all of his 39 fights with 25 knockouts, face the dreadful Marquez for The Ring welterweight title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

And Mayweather told that he is maintaining his winning record had been the key inspiring factor in preparing for the fight. When you go away out there with an unbeatable record, there is no force on these fighters because they have nothing to lose. If Marquez gets strike in 12 rounds or he gets knocked out, they are still leaving to love him in his country because he had the possibility to face the best.

But in the US it doesn't work similar to that so we have to work a great deal harder to stay on top. If a guy give me a rough fight or even comes close to captivating, that's abnormal. It's extremely vital for me to leave out there to execute well and dominate. I've got to leave out there and be elegant, be clever and listen to my uncle Roger. Mexican Marquez, 36, is a past three-weight world champion, but has merely ever fought as high as lightweight before. However, he has won 50 from 55 professional encounter, with 37 knockouts, and has drawn once and lost barely to Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao.

Miguel Cotto Right Back

Miguel Cotto is not enchanting any chances in so far as his training for the Nov 14 super fight with Manny Pacquiao is concerned. Phil Landman, who is Cotto’s training coach, told Fightnews and Manila Bulletin with the intention of the Puerto Rican puncher is right on track in training. The work Miguel has ended leading in to this training has been and will carry on to be very beneficial. In the coming weeks we have a plan set forth leading up to our departure to Tampa, focusing on the power and conditioning side and building on the base Miguel has carried in to this camp.

Landman, who works side by side with chief coach Joe Santiago, said the 28-year-old reign World Boxing Organization welterweight king would still work out a sweat during next week’s press/publicity tour that will carry them and Team Pacquiao to New York, Caguas, San Francisco, Los Angeles and possibly San Diego.

The press visit is pending up and it’s a challenging week with all the traveling, erratic hours and long days. Obviously not that favorable to the training but it is also necessary and part of it and we work around the agenda. We have a curriculum set forth for that week so we try to reduce losing out on any of the preparation said by Landman, who arrived in the islands nine days ago. Long before Landman arrived, Cotto had been frequent the gym and sweating it out. On Monday, Cotto at last began sparring and the guy who was on the in receipt of end of his power shots was Puerto Rican welterweight Frankie Santos.

Meanwhile, Landman also exposed that while diet and nutrition play a vital role in training, Cotto’s sustenance do not need the importation of game meat like antelope and other funky stuff that was supposed to have been tried by Oscar De La Hoya when he was training for Pacquiao last year. As far diet goes there is nothing profligate that Miguel enjoys and we make a part of his diet during training. He eats a mixture of good balanced meals sticking to the basics, fish, chicken etc as well as a food frequent to the Puerto Rican diet. Miguel is an avid cook and over the last pair of years has actually come to understand what the advantage of eating well has on his training and recovery, added Landman.
