Brook Against Jennings

Brook claimed the title last June by beating Barrie Jones and has defended title for three times. Former champion of British Jennings, 31, stopped in five rounds when he challenged Miguel Cotto for the WBO welterweight title in February. The unbeaten Sheffield boxer, who has 13 KOs from his 20 fights, said he could have moved on to European level but wants to beat Jennings to become no 1.

Having fought Miguel Cotto, he is known in the States, and if I do a job on him I can make a big statement about my ability at world level. I've won each of last three opponents in the first three rounds, and I can do something similar in opposition to Jennings. He is a slow beginner and I know I can get him out there quickly. Jennings lost two of his 37 fights as a expert, with his only other defeat apart from the Cotto turn around coming when he lost his British title to Mutley in 2006.

Brook is a good boxer and he's done well to win a Lonsdale belt outright. People asked me if I was going to retire after fight against cotto, but the thought never crossed my mind.

I want fights for title and I'm pleased that I've got Brook, because this is an break for me to get back into the big time. "Everyone is talk him as the future of British boxing, but I'll take him to school."

Confident Wladimir

According to Rafael, IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will face number #3 ranked IBF contender Eddie Chambers rather than Alexander Povetkin, Klitschko’s number #1 binding opponent. The Alexander Povetkin assistant trainer Teddy Atlas wants to get Povetkin in training fight before Povetkin takes on Klitschko. That is like a good policy by Atlas, because Povetkin, 28, has looked less than planetary in his last two fights, beating Taurus Sykes and Jason Estrada

Povetkin, 2004 Olympic heavyweight Gold Medalist from Russia, appear to need more experience before being locate in with a capable fighter like Wladimir Klitschko, who at 6′6″ would have a considerable height and reach advantage over the 6′2″
Chambers, recently defeated Ukrainian Alexander Dimitrenko by a 12 round majority decision on July 4th in the WBO Heavyweight Title Chambers dominated the entire fight, hurting Dimitrenko with uppercuts and knocking him down in the 10th round. Chambers ignored Dimitrenko’s attempts at jab and was able to control him on the inside with hooks and uppercuts to the head.

Dimitrenko fight well when he was on move, fighting well in the first five rounds and then periodically thereafter. But Dimitrenko’s energy dull extensively after the 5th, and Chambers was able to take command of the fight and punish him the rest of the way. Dimitrenko’s face was badly hurted, especially around both eyes from the big shots from Chambers.

There is no better time For Chamber, and then he has to fight Klitschko. Chambers has got back to back wins over Samuel Peter and Dimitrenko, and fighting at the best way of his career. Although Chambers will be giving up well over 30 pounds in a fight against the 240 pound Wladimir, He proved to Dimitrenko that he can able to solve how to get inside the reach of a tall fighter.

CONFIDENT MARQUEZ

Manuel Marquez (50-4-1, 37 KO’s) is ready to give a major upset on 19 of sep in his mega fight with undefeated pound-for boxing star Mayweather Jr. (39-0, 25 KO’s) at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas. Marquez has put weight, gotten much stronger and is hitting harder than ever. Marquez has no secret about but he plans to do against the 32-year Mayweather, intend on attacking him.Mayweather struggled for sometime when facing Luis Castillo, a huge body puncher. Although Castillo lost both of the fights, many of the boxing fans feel that Mayweather lost first fight in 2002 April.

Marquez has training in the mountains for his spell with Mayweather, running hills and lifting large rocks to build up his legs, arms and shoulders. Marquez sees Mayweather is weakness in body shots and intends on working in that area against him. Mayweather recently persistent an injury on his ribs while in training. He won’t say what is the cause of injury, but assumption is that one of his hard-hitting partners hurt him with a big body shot.

Mayweather come back with the goal of fighting Pacquiao. Instead of taking an easy tune-up for the fight, Mayweather decided on Marquez, he points out really beat Pacquiao in both of Marquez’s prior two fights with Manny. Mayweather is obviously older, less youthful he did two years ago and there’s a question whether he still has what it takes. For a boxer to take off much time from the sport, especially a fighter in the lighter weight classes, it’s often difficult, if not impossible, for them to successful comeback. Usually the fighters in the slighter weight are incapable to come back effectively once they retire for any length of time.

Jermain Taylors Last Run

The declaration of the Super Six tournament is the best news boxing fans have had all year. In latest months, More number of fights have been postponed owed to injuries and the action has been slow. But something has finally come along that people can really look forward to. Boxing needs for the best to fight the best. The super middleweight division is loaded with endowment and without a definite champion and this tournament will help to set the record straight.

While the fighters in this Super Six tournament are amongst the best at 168 pounds, most of them are not household names (at least in the United States). The winner of the Super Six will appear as a superstar and some of the runners-up will almost certainly gain a lot of appreciation. This is an event that will boost the careers for all of the fighters involved, except for perhaps Jermain Taylor.

Of all the fighters in this tournament, Jermain Taylor is the prevalent name. Since wining the bronze medal in the 2000 Olympic Games, he has enjoyed a lot of fame and profitable success as a professional. Before he ever won a fight of importance, he was already posing in Everlast advertisements and he was featured on HBO as one of the hottest forecast in boxing. Jermain has, in fact, done well for himself in this game, but it is likely that he found a place in this tournament because of his commercial possibility, opposed to his recent accomplishments.

Boxing Hall of Fame

The International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) and the World Boxing Hall of Fame (WBHF) has globally recognized boxing halls of fame by sport of boxing;with the IBHOF being the more extensively recognized boxing hall of fame.WBHF was established by Everett L. Sanders in 1980. Since its inception the WBHOF has never have had a permanent location or museum, which has permitted the more recent IBHOF to gather more publicity and prestige.

Boxing's International Hall of Fame was motivated by a tribute an American town seized for two local heroes in 1982. The town, Canastota, New York, (which is about 15 miles (24 km) east of Syracuse, via the New York State Thruway), grateful former world welterweight/middleweight champion Carmen Basilio and his nephew, former world welterweight champion Billy Backus. The people of Canastota raised money for the tribute which inspired the idea of creating an official, annual hall of fame for notable boxers.

The International Boxing Hall of Fame opened in Canastota in 1989. The first inductees in 1990 included Jack Johnson, Benny Leonard, Jack Dempsey, Henry Armstrong, Sugar Ray Robinson, Archie Moore, and Muhammad Ali. Other world-class figures include Roberto Manos de Piedra Duran, Ismael Laguna, Eusebio Pedroza, Carlos Monzon, Azumah Nelson, Rocky Marciano, Pipino Cuevas, and Ken Buchanan. The Hall of Fame's orientation ceremony is held every June as part of a four-day event. The fans who come to Canastota for the Induction Weekend are treated to a number of events and Nevada State Athletic Commission is the one of the most important Governing Body in US,This Commission regulates all contests or exhibitions of unarmed combat, including the licensure and supervision of promoters, boxers, mixed martial artists, kick boxers, seconds, ring officials, managers, and matchmakers.

Froch Iam Going to Be the Last Man Standing

We got to like World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch´s self-belief, so far he might be a slight deluded about himself.Froch 31, would be the first fight as part of Showtime´s six-man tournament that starts in October with Froch taking on top super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell (18-0, 13 KO´s) on 10th Oct. I´m going to be the last man standing,Froch said with confidence.

Froch figures that Boxing championship will come down to him and World Boxing Association super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler in the final. We kind of feel sorry for Froch, because we don´t think he´ll make it past the first set of contest. Froch is going to get his back side handed to him by Dirrell, who has blinding speed and about just as much power as Froch. Froch admits that he´s not well-known with Dirrell.

British boxing fans don´t have clue one as to who Dirrell is. Some of them seem to guess because they are not recognizable with him that it means that Froch would beat him. You know, kind of along the similar lines as the stuff many of them were spouting about Enzo Maccarinelli beating Ola Afolabi before their bout a few months ago.

Gatti Dies, His Wife Being Investigated.

Boxer Arturo Gatti was found death at his home on sunday. How much more disbelieve could we grab in such a short time, in the last couple of months we lost David Carridine, Ed McMahon, Billy Mays, Farrah Fawcett, Micheal Jackson, Steve Mcnair, Alexis Arguello, and now Arturo Gatti. To the avg person the name Aturo Gatti means little but to the boxing fan the name Arturo Gatti is synonymous with boldness, mettle and heart its who he was. He was not the best of his generation and on many levels,he might be overestimated due to the fact that people tend to confuse guts with skills but there was no denying his allure and his capability to produce a good show.

Who could forget his fight with Wilson Rodriquez, after being knock down in the second and with his eye almost closed he came back to Ko Rodriquez in sixth. How about the awesome fight which ranks in my top 10 against Ruelas, where he was taking a beating and was almost out before being saved by the bell in the 5th, only to see Gatti come back to ko Ruelas with his thundering left hook.

Its still too early into the investigation of Gatti death to make insinuations but the evidence points to the wife, which would be sarcastic that a fighter like Gatti who spend his whole life defending himself against people who try to hurt him inside the ring would die at the hands of a love one outside of it.

David Hayes is going to face one of the two Klitschko brothers in a heavyweight championship fight,it seems to be its his destiny, however The Hayemaker has not exactly earned the right to do so. One of the most expert ticket sellers in the heavyweight division, Haye pretty much talked himself into a shot at IBF and WBO king Wladimir, due to injury on his back ,while he was taking shadow boxing with using Boxing equipments in training camp,if he had used the proper Safety Accessories he would not have injured, then he only have to pull out of the signed fight.

Vitali Klitschko

Highly disappointed, as was Wladimir, it looked as nevertheless the 28-year-old puncher, who has brought some pleasure to his weight class although he has had just two fights there,he had lost his huge chance. Now, however, according to a news article that has appeared on Sky Sports as well as a few other boxing web sites, there is a good chance Haye will get his date with a Klitschko this one against older brother and WBC ruler Vitali.Vitali, soon to turn 38 years of age,He has scheduled for September 12th in Germany, and Haye said, there is a great chance he would be in the opposite corner
